Social Impact

How BRC lifts its community

During his 15-year career, BRC founder Blake Allen grew keenly aware of the difference he could make as an Indigenous business owner to his people and his community – and proactively devised strategies to achieve it.

As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering community growth and empowerment, BRC proudly sponsors local sporting teams and community fairs. We believe in supporting initiatives that bring people together, promote healthy lifestyles, and provide opportunities for all, particularly for those who may not have had a fair go.

By engaging in these community activities, we reinforce our dedication to addressing social disparities and creating opportunities for everyone to thrive. At BRC, we operate with integrity, focus on collaboration, and always prioritise safe work practices – values that we extend into our support for local causes and initiatives.

Together, we’re building more than just roofs; we’re building stronger, more connected communities.

Strengthening Community

In 2023, BRC launched a comprehensive initiative to strengthen community bonds and support grassroots programs that enhance community wellbeing and safety.

  • By donating funds and executive leadership time, BRC is investing in causes that directly impact neighbourhoods where it operates or has personal ties.
  • This initiative builds on its longstanding support for on-the-ground initiatives, emphasising partnerships with registered nonprofits and community-centred organisations.
  • BRC also provides paid volunteering time for employees, encouraging them to contribute actively to social causes and promote the BRC brand as ambassadors of community engagement.

By setting clear targets for community investment, participation in local events, sponsorship opportunities, and employee volunteering, BRC aims to measure and enhance their impact on community resilience and mutual growth.

Aboriginal Pride through Sport

BRC is committed to advancing reconciliation and promoting meaningful social impact through its initiatives dedicated to Aboriginal participation.

As a 100% Aboriginal-owned and -controlled business, BRC actively champions cultural pride and identity while fostering inclusive employment opportunities and economic empowerment within Aboriginal communities.

Through strategic targets, including subcontracting quotas for Aboriginal-owned businesses, annual employment creation goals, and apprenticeship opportunities, BRC aims to enhance Aboriginal representation and engagement across all facets of its operations. By partnering with key community organisations and participating in events like the Ella Rugby 7’s Tournament, BRC demonstrates its unwavering support for Aboriginal youth development and community cohesion.

At BRC we want to address the gaps through our business, in employment and Indigenous business promotion, leadership and engagement in the market.
